Cape Cod & AEL
Two years ago, ArchitectureEL expanded their footprint to Cape Cod and since then, they’ve been taking advantage of all the Cape has to offer. The expansion allowed the team at AEL to increase their participation in historic preservation and help protect the Cape and its architectural beauty. They’ve participated in a variety of activities throughout their time on the Cape to remain active members of the community and create lasting memories. Along with their family ties, Cape Cod will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Owner, Kevin Rothschild, and wife, Jennifer Rothschild, recently took a curling class on the Cape hosted by the Lower Cape Curling Club. The Club is an all-inclusive league open to anyone in the community. They mix in traditional curlers, stick curling and wheelchair in all play, to create a fun atmosphere with some competition mixed in. The Club provides equipment like grippers that slide on your shoes and brooms curlers will sweep with; all participants need are sneakers and warm, active clothes.
During their visit, they also took some time to explore new opportunities for AEL in Chatham, MA. Aside from a curling class, Kevin and Jen took part in a mindfulness walk sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust. The nature walk took place at a beach in South Chatham, MA, and was a great opportunity to destress. During the walk, they were guided on using a few of the five senses to keep you present in the moment. This experience came highly recommended and it was wonderful!
Founded in 1988, the Harwich Conservation Trust permanently protects natural areas by receiving land donations, holding conservation restrictions on properties, and purchasing land throughout Harwich. Harwich with its sandy beaches, salty air, and welcoming beauty is a fragile place. The mission of the nonprofit is to preserve land that protects woods, water, wildlife and our shared quality of life. The Trust is not affiliated with the town government, but will partner as needed to preserve priority lands.
