Emerging Architecture Trends
It’s no secret that architectural trends adjust yearly. We’ve put together a list of the trends to continue to look out for in 2023:
Biophilic Design
Developing buildings that are ecologically friendly and efficient in their use of resources are on the rise. These buildings involve energy-saving materials and practices. Adding green spaces in cities that are constructed with high-rise structures benefits humans and the environment, while the abundance of living plants keeps the climate stable and healthy.
3-D Printed Design
The use of 3D modeling and printing has become increasingly prevalent in the design and construction of buildings considering it provides a financially feasible and sustainable approach to building. 3D models permit curved, textured forms while reducing labor time and streamlining logistics.
Tiny Homes
Tiny homes are an extremely cost-effective and environmentally friendly design. These homes aim to create a life focused on what is genuinely valuable.
Community-centered Design
Buildings and settings accessible to a diverse range of individuals, including those with disabilities, are one of the most prominent building and
design trends. Architects have the ability to stimulate social contact and community engagement with the design of inclusive outdoor and indoor spaces. One example of ArchEL’s community-centered design is the Lyman Terrace, pictured here.
