New Affordable Housing Project in Western MA
At Architecture Environment Life Inc. (AEL), our passion is to support community growth and
development through the built environment. To achieve that, we collaborate with partners who complement
our mission to strengthen the communities in which we work and live. AEL is excited to once again be
working with The Community Builders (TCB), a nonprofit real estate developer, in the design of 500 units
of affordable housing as part of the Plumley and Main revitalization.
The Community Builders own and manage more than 11,000 quality apartments, housing families and
seniors. Their business, infrastructure, and community program investments help make neighborhoods
work for people of all incomes. Thanks to Langan, specialists in engineering and environmental design, and
Lincoln Brown Illustration, an architectural illustration studio, we’ve received incredible renderings
that showcase the design for the Worcester development. AEL is strong in its commitment to exceptional
design in the affordable housing market and in its belief that we must reduce our carbon footprint. We are
pleased not only to be able to renovate the existing structures at Plumley, but to be engaging in a deep
energy retrofit of one of the structures. The team at AEL is proud to be a part of this very important project
and to our continued goal of making neighbors out of strangers.
